Never Miss a Deadline Again: Calendar Syncing for Dubsado

As a client-based business, deadlines are more like lifelines.

Getting things completed in a timely fashion is crucial to having a successful business. No one wants to work with someone who is consistently missing their deadlines.

Dubsado is a great tool to help you keep everything in place. But it’s not totally foolproof.

For one thing, they don’t have an app or notification system that’s really reliable for the entrepreneur on the go.

Before you go cancelling your Dubsado subscription, you should know that all is not lost! There is a way to keep all of those important dates top of mind, and I’m going to show you how right now!

Locate your Calendar

And no, I’m not talking about the calendar on your Dashboard.

You may have never even used this function before, since you get the week on your dashboard and can keep track of your appointments from there.

Open the navigation panel on the left-hand side. The Calendar button should be the fifth one down.

Initiate Calendar Syncing

Once you’ve clicked into the Calendar feature, you’ll be presented with a calendar in month form. It will look something like this:

In the top right, you will see a button that says, “Edit Linked Calendars.”

When you’ve clicked it, you’ll be taken to a page that looks mostly empty. That’s because you need to add a calendar to it!

Click the “Sync Calendar” button in the top right.

Link your Calendar using Cronofy

Calendar Syncing in Dubsado is accomplished using a service called Cronofy. Because it’s a third-party application, it needs your permission to link the programs together.

Choose your calendar provider from the list provided. I chose Google to connect to my GSuite account.

Now you have to give the app permission. It will look something like this:

Agree to their Terms and Policies and click “Link my Account.”

Cronofy will then ask you to allow them to manage your calendar. Click “Allow.”

Choose Which Calendars You Want to Sync

After you’ve allowed Cronofy to manage your calendar, you’ll be taken back to the page on Dubsado that was previously empty. But now you’ll see at least one calendar listed!

Here’s what mine looked like:

Note: Your calendar is not set up yet! You’ve simply allowed Dubsado to read your calendars. We still have to set up the calendar to talk with Dubsado and vice versa.

Choose which calendar you’re interested in syncing and click the “Link Calendar” button. You can sync as many as you like!

Choose Your Sync Settings

A box will appear when you click “Link Calendar.” It will look like this:

You have a few options when it comes to syncing your calendars. You can import your Google Calendar to Dubsado, so that any events show up in your dashboard.

You can also choose to export your calendar to Google. I check both, because when I’m on the go, I want to be able to pull up my calendar with ease, and Dubsado doesn’t have a mobile app (yet)!

Set your preferences and hit that save button!

Your screen should now look something like this:

And that’s it! You’ve successfully linked your calendars! Now you can rest easy knowing you’re far less likely to miss a deadline!
